A cotton-rich hoodie will absorb moisture, become heavy and take longer to dry. Use a towel poncho or changing robe first, then put the hoodie on as a dry warmth layer. They can be worn that way, but the shoulder, sleeve, hip and body-length proportions may differ even at a similar chest measurement. A deliberately oversized women's style is not the same cut as sizing up in a men's hoodie. Check garment measurements and the model's stated fit rather than relying solely on the gender label.

Prioritise fabric weight, a brushed inner, cuff and hem structure, and enough room for a base layer. A hood adds useful warmth in light wind, but standard sweatshirt fleece is not windproof. For exposed beaches, combine it with a shell or changing robe instead of choosing the thickest-looking hoodie and expecting weather protection.

Shake out sand before washing, close zips, turn the garment inside out and use the care-label temperature. Do not leave it damp and salty in a bag, as odour and fibre wear increase. Avoid direct ironing over prints and high tumble heat, which can crack graphics and shrink cotton-rich fleece.
