kids teva footwear

What began as a clever fix on the banks of the Grand Canyon in 1984 has grown into a fantastic Teva sandals collection that is all about freedom and exploration. Built for everything from stream-hopping to playground fun, this range of Teva kids sandals offers comfort and support for growing little feet.

What is the difference between kids' Teva Hurricane XLT2 and Original Universal sandals?

Hurricane XLT2 has a more substantial cushioned midsole, padded heel strap and grippier outsole for playgrounds, day hikes and longer wear. Original Universal is simpler, lighter and closer to the classic minimal Teva design. Choose Hurricane for support and varied ground; choose Original Universal for easy everyday summer and water use.

How much growing room should a child's Teva sandal have?

Leave a modest margin at the toe and heel, but the foot must remain centred on the sole and the straps must secure it without maximum tightening. Too much length creates a trip point and lets the foot slide on slopes. Measure both feet and choose for the larger foot rather than buying a full extra size for future growth.

Can children wear Teva sandals in the sea and at splash parks?

Quick-dry synthetic webbing and rubber outsoles make many Teva models suitable for water activities. Rinse away chlorine, salt and sand afterwards and allow them to air-dry. They protect the sole better than bare feet, but open sandals do not shield toes from rocks or sharp objects like a closed water shoe.

Are Teva hook-and-loop straps secure enough for active children?

Yes when the straps are correctly threaded, clean and adjusted at the forefoot, ankle and heel. The heel should not lift substantially and the toes should not grip to hold the sandal on. Sand or fluff can weaken hook-and-loop contact, so rinse and close the straps after dirty play.

Can kids wear socks with Teva sandals?

Socks can add warmth and reduce rubbing on dry walks, especially while a child adjusts to new straps. They are not useful for water play because wet cotton stays cold and may bunch. Choose thin walking socks and re-adjust the straps, as the extra thickness changes the fit.
