NosiLife is Craghoppers' insect-repellent clothing technology. The repellent treatment is applied to the fabric during manufacture, so it helps protect against biting insects such as mosquitoes, midges and ticks without the need to treat your clothes yourself. It is widely used for travel to tropical and insect-prone destinations.

NosiLife fabric is treated with a plant-based repellent derived from eucalyptus oil, which discourages insects from landing on the garment. Because insects are less likely to settle on your clothing, the risk of bites through or around the fabric is reduced. The technology also includes odour control to keep garments fresher for longer.

No. The treatment is bound into the fabric, so Craghoppers says it lasts for the lifetime of the garment. To get the best from it, follow the care label and wash at no more than 30°C.

The current NosiLife treatment uses a plant-based active ingredient derived from eucalyptus oil, which is applied during manufacture rather than to your skin. For specific health concerns, such as during pregnancy or for young children, check with a GP or travel health professional before you travel.

Yes. NosiLife protects the areas covered by the garment, so you should still apply insect repellent to exposed skin. In high-risk areas, follow travel health advice on bite prevention and malaria precautions alongside wearing NosiLife clothing.

NosiLife is ideal for travel to tropical and insect-prone destinations, including safaris, jungle treks, backpacking trips and beach holidays. It's also useful closer to home for summer walks, camping, fishing and golf, especially in areas known for midges and ticks such as the Scottish Highlands.

NosiLife provides built-in insect protection, while SolarShield is Craghoppers' sun-protective fabric technology, which is tested to UPF 40+. Some styles combine both, labelled NosiLife SolarShield+, for protection from bites and UV rays in one garment.
