Cotton feels soft and works well for casual wear, but it absorbs moisture and dries slowly. A technical polyester or blended top moves sweat and dries faster for hiking, travel or exercise. For low-intensity everyday use, fabric weight and feel may matter more than performance; for sustained activity, moisture management is the safer choice.

Lightweight tees feel cooler, layer easily and dry faster, but may show body contours or wear sooner. Heavyweight cotton holds a more structured shape and often suits oversized or graphic styles, although it is warmer and slower to dry. Compare fabric composition and garment weight where available instead of judging thickness from colour.

The shoulder seam should sit close to the edge of the shoulder, the sleeve should move without cutting into the upper arm and the hem should cover the waistband when you raise your arms. A longer skate or big-and-tall cut may deliberately extend farther. Choose the intended silhouette rather than correcting every loose area by sizing down.

A vest provides maximum ventilation and unrestricted shoulders, making it useful for hot weather, beach use and layering beneath shirts. It offers less sun coverage and can expose backpack straps directly to the skin. For outdoor activity, consider a sleeveless technical top rather than a casual cotton vest if sweat and drying time matter.

Turn the garment inside out, wash at the label temperature with similar colours and avoid high tumble-dryer heat. Do not iron directly over the graphic. Cracking is accelerated by stretching a print across a too-tight chest, so correct fit protects the design as well as improving comfort.
