NewHide is Craghoppers' leather-look alternative used on selected footwear, designed to provide a durable, easy-care upper without conventional animal leather. It should still be checked for the exact backing, waterproof membrane and care instructions. The NewHide name describes the upper material, not the outsole grip or walking grade.

Lite models prioritise lower weight and everyday flexibility for travel, paths and casual walking. Trek or Dura Pro styles are more likely to use a substantial outsole, reinforced construction and a fit intended for longer or rougher routes. Compare the live product weight, collar, tread and waterproof specification rather than choosing from the name alone.

AquaDry is Craghoppers' waterproof and breathable membrane technology. In footwear it helps block external water while allowing some moisture vapour to escape. It does not prevent water entering over the collar, and breathability still depends on socks, temperature and activity. Check whether the exact boot is AquaDry waterproof or simply water resistant.

Desert-inspired styles are designed more for dry travel, casual use and warm conditions than deep mud or sustained rain. Remove dry dirt with a soft brush, wipe the upper with a damp cloth and use only products approved for synthetic or mixed-material footwear. Leather conditioners may be inappropriate.
