The changing robe is a loose-fitting jacket designed to help people change clothes outdoors while staying warm, dry, and covered. They are also commonly worn just as a coat if you like the oversized look, to pop to the shops, walk the dog, pick the kids up from school or to stand on the sidelines to watch a football game. They are a very versatile item!

Use age as a starting point, then check the child’s height and the actual garment dimensions. The robe needs enough length for coverage and enough body width for changing, but sleeves and hem should not drag or obstruct movement.

It can provide privacy, warmth and rain protection in one garment, and the fleece will absorb some surface moisture. A very wet child may still dry faster with a towel first. As a coat it is intentionally roomy, so it is excellent for sidelines and post-swim use but bulkier than a fitted everyday school jacket.
